Aristaeus Holdings Limited (Aristaeus being the Greek God of Bee Keeping) was established in 2016 with the intent of saving bees and providing a natural healing honey product for our own enjoyment. Although our dream of saving bees was established many years earlier, our ideas developed and we found most of our family and friends also wanted to experience the healing power of honey so we expanded our ambitions to produce larger quantities for us all to enjoy.
Our dream of making a product that was not only healthy but as organic and natural as possible, led us away from mainstream products that seemed to be watered down mixtures in order to increase the volume. Our idea is that we could manage and grow our own Manuka plantation where we could cultivate hives and produce high quality Manuka honey products.
Sommer’s love of honey and desire to “save the bees” as they decline around the world cemented our vision for providing our own small piece of sanctuary that provides both a bee haven and a natural healing Manuka honey product for us all to enjoy. Sommer’s broad experience importing New Zealand Manuka honey into Japan and assisting with the establishment of that international Manuka honey trading company has generated the opportunity for her to put those skills, knowledge and expertise into creating our own New Zealand based business.
Mark’s background as a professional company director with extensive experience in business development, construction and property development provided the opportunity to purchase our first plot of land in a warm and sunny location surrounded by native bush being the Abel Tasman National Park which borders two boundaries of the Manuka site. Our own slice of heaven in New Zealand!
Our dream was set, with a prime piece of paradise, experience with Manuka honey and our combined love for bees and natural products, we launched our Aristaeus Manuka products. Our aim is to create products as organic and natural as possible sharing the amazing health benefits of Manuka Honey along with other Manuka and bee products.
